Frequently Asked Questions

Products & Packaging

Are your products eco-friendly?

Yes. All of my products are designed and manufactured in the UK*, to minimise my carbon footprint. None of my products include single-use plastic, and many are made from recycled materials, and can be composted or recycled.

I work closely with UK-based businesses with "green" credentials to print and manufacture my products.

Is your postal packaging “green”?

Yes, absolutely! I never use single-use plastic in any of my packaging. In many cases it is made from recycled materials, and all of it can be recycled.

Design and manufacture

Who designs and illustrates your products?

Me! Absolutely everything is designed and drawn by myself, from my home-studio in Suffolk. Visit my Hannah Weeks Illustration website for examples of my bespoke work.

What mediums do you work in?

Everything I illustrate is hand-painted, digitally. That means I draw my portraits in the traditional sense, but the mediums I use is either my graphics pen and tablet, or my stylus and iPad (in the same way that you would draw or paint with a pencil/brush on a piece of paper).

I also paint with acrylics and ink on canvas. From time to time limited edition giclée prints of these pieces will be available from my shop.

Can I request a custom commission?

Of course! If you like my style and would like to commission something specific, please get in touch.

Do you collaborate with other businesses or creatives?

Yes. This kind of thing really excites me, so send me a message if you would like to work together.

My background

What is your background in horticulture?

I have always loved plants and have been a keen gardener of my own garden for the past twelve years. I have a particular interest in succulents and have an (expanding) collection of this kind of plant in my conservatory-cum-plant-room.

Since 2017 I have done regular work as a part-time gardener, alongside continuing to run my illustration business.

In 2018 I enrolled as a part-time, trainee-gardener on a program called the WRAGS scheme (with the WFGA), where I learned a lot, working directly under the Head Gardener of a large country estate in Norfolk.

In 2020 I gained the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture with the Royal Horticultural Society.
